Thermal Reconditioning is also known as the Japanese Hair Straightening system, Magic Straight, TR or Straight Perm. We have been educated with all the different TR product lines and we feel Liscio and Alicia Thermal Reconditioning (Japanese Lines) give the best results. The greatest advantage with these product lines is that we can customize the different strengths and conditioners to give each individual what they need for a successful TR. We take full advantage of the continuing ongoing education that Liscio and Alicial provide.

Thermal Reconditioning uses heat to restructure the hair's protein bond which enables those with frizzy, curly, or wavy hair to experience permanently straight hair while at the same time preserving the health and improving the feel, texture, softness, & shine, leaving the hair completely manageable.

Many clients have mentioned that when they consulted with other salons, they were discouraged to have Thermal Reconditioning (TR) because they were told it causes damage. Please keep in mind that the damage your hair has before your TR is done is the damage your hair will have after the TR is complete. However, over time the condition of your hair will improve. Because you will no longer be struggling with your hair's natural texture, you will be doing less to it (i.e., blow drying, flat ironing, etc.). Therefore, it will become healthier.

It is very important that you work with an experienced TR specialist. Communication is key when you are working with a stylist, especially when you are dealing with chemical work. You should feel confident that at any time you can contact your stylist at her salon to ask questions and get answers.

The system is protein and Thioglycolate based and uses a special straightening iron set at a heat high enough to seal in moisture once the hair's cysteine bond is broken allowing the hair to be straightened and requiring barely any blow-drying.

 

 The result is nothing less than a miracle -- your hair is smooth, silky, healthier, and manageable with vibrant shine. Generally, your hair will stay like that for about six months to a year depending on your curl pattern, length of hair and how well you can manage your new growth.

Blow drying, brushing, and using a flat iron on a regular basis are all damaging to your hair. After you receive a TR, you won't need to continue these harsh methods to style your hair the way you like. This way, over time, and given the proper care, your hair is likely to get healthier. Remember also, that starting with healthy hair makes a tremendous difference. Expect your hair to be as healthy after the process, as before. This process is meant to repair damaged hair over time. When you first come in for TR you may have many broken hairs due to the styling methods you have been accostomed to. After your TR retouch you will find your hair to be in a much healthier state and all those short, broken hairs will eventually grow in.

We can service your TR on color, highlighted, and relaxed hair. But keep in mind that previously chemically treated hair might require some maintenance with a paddle brush and blow dryer or a quick iron to smooth down the cuticle. What would have taken one hour and a half to do, will now take 10 minutes. And the best thing about it is that once your hair is styled, it will not swell up again.

A visual consultation is very important. Your stylist will determine your porosity levels, density, and curl pattern at the time of your consult. This will provide us the information needed to decide what chemicals we will use. This will also be the time to talk over pricing and to discuss the time it will take to service your TR successfully.

Even if it has been five years since your last chemical service, it is very important that you give a full history of your hair. Pricing varies any where from $600.00 to $1,300.00, and the time can take anywhere from 4-10 hours depending on length, condition, texture and previous chemical.

Our stylists generally perform 2 TR services per day. So there is no reason to rush or cut corners with very important steps needed for a successful TR.  Many salons charge by the hour. We feel it is very important not to rush to satisfy the clients budget or take advantage and slow down to make our day a success. We want to be fair and the products I have chosen for our salon were carefully researched and thought out to make sure we are using the best quality product you deserve. Our TR's include a cut, and one month after your service, we honor you with PPT service (a $50.00 value). At this time we will go over any questions you may have, and we will guarantee your TR within that month. However, our retouches do not include a cut or PPT service a month later, but our prices are lower than your initial TR if serviced within one year.
